As an opportunity for buyers and suppliers to come together, expand their networks, share professional best practice and celebrate the sectors growth, active-net has become a favourite on the Leisure sector’s calendar.
But now celebrating its 10th year, the active-net brand is evolving, adding new events to the series, and broadening its approach.
Starting out initially as an individual event in 2014, the networking event has grown into a series that includes the original United Kingdom 2 day operator and supplier partner format of meetings, active-net Scotland and more recently active-net Private Sector. In addition, with a wider extension of the health sector focus, veg-net was introduced in 2024, as a one-day business meeting and networking event for the plant-based food sector.
Now in active-net’s 10th year, active-net Open Water is being introduced for the first time in a single day format on 22nd October at Holme Pierrepont, the home of national water sport. active-net Open Water, is designed to create connections that go beyond the confines of traditional networking, asking professionals to come together and share ideas, forge meaningful relationships and grow the profile of Open Water activities.
David Monkhouse, Active Insight’s Director, said “active-net Open Water is a brand new event for us this year. With the support of the Royal Life Saving Society – RLSS and the Aqua Parks Association, we have been able to create an event that will showcase the brilliant work that Open Water operators do and the activity range that they have to offer, whilst giving them the opportunity to connect with an innovative range of suppliers who can add value to their proposition.”
Over the one-day event, delegates will experience a unique combination of at least 10 one to one pre-arranged meetings with key sector operators, keynote and breakout sessions with industry experts on branding, finance, sales and marketing, plus the sharing of new sector insight via panel discussion sessions.
Julie Allen, Active Insight’s Business Development Director, commented “One of the core values of the active-net series has always been to provide an element of CPD to its participants, offering insight and expertise on key themes important to the industry. We are excited to bring this level of learning and development to operators and colleagues specifically focused around open water activities.”
With a full diary of events planned for 2024 already, 2025 looks to go one better with the introduction of an event specifically focused for the Education Sector. active-net Education will focus on opening up more schools and education facilities for public physical activity use. Designed at helping the education sector and activity providers come together to unlock the potential of increased physical activity programming in the community, this looks set to be a truly innovative event. We’ll have more to announce on that soon, but for now active-net in its 10th year certainly has a packed agenda!
