active-net March 2023 Keynote and Three Breakout Sessions Available to View

Active-net returned to it’s home in Eastwood Hall Notts on the 29 and 30 March 2023 bringing together the active leisure sector’s leading suppliers and operators from all over the UK and Europe.

The two day annual event is the UK’s leading buyer and supplier networking event with over 140 delegates enjoying keynote panel sessions and CPD before entering back-to-back prearranged meetings.

In it’s 9th year, active-net experienced unprecedented demand and sold out within weeks of the key industry event. One of the key principles of active-net is knowledge sharing not only through extensive networking opportunities but through the delivery of the keynote panel and three breakout sessions, each focusing on key industry topics.

This year in recognition of the demand to attend and to share this vital knowledge, active-net introduce live-stream with the support of HCM.

For the first time ever in active-net’s history, the keynote panel session and one of the three breakout sessions were streamed live. David Monkhouse, Director of Leisure-net Solutions and active-net lead explained why introducing the opportunity to view via live-stream was important as this key industry event:

“One of our fundamental principles is continued learning, development and knowledge sharing. We recognise that not all operators are able to join us at active-net this year so to show our continued support for the active leisure sector, we are introducing ‘Live Stream’. Operators and suppliers can register to view our keynote panel and first breakout session which cover Net Carbon Zero, sustainability in leisure and decarbonisation within the public sector.” Commenting on the success of introducing live stream David added “absolutely incredible to offer live stream and the recordings to the industry – with 162 unique views of our live stream and the recordings still to share – I love the innovation we are always able to add”.

Each year active-net focuses on a particular issue facing the leisure industry – this year the theme was decarbonisation with the active-net team aspiring to deliver a net carbon zero event. The keynote panel chaired by Mike Hill, Director of Leisure-net explored Net Carbon Zero and sustainability in the public sector looking at challenges and opportunities. Mike was joined by Huw Edwards – UK Active, Jennifer Huygen – CLUK, Tara Dillon – Cimspa and Mark Tweedie LATCo.

The three breakout sessions covered Sustainability – a solution based approach, Public Sector Decarbonisation and Data Driven Decisions.

All sessions are now available to view for free. To access the recordings of the keynote panel and all three breakout sessions, please compete the below form:

Mike Hill, Director of Leisure-net commented on the event “Wow, what a buzz there was at active-net 23! Over 140 of the sectors leading suppliers and operators, sharing ideas, experiences and solutions for the future.”
